Mermaidea

I got selected for an Etsy Treasury yesterday and my Claire Fascinator was in there alongside some amazing vintage stuff chosen by Tigerluxe. Lots of thanks to them for including me.

My friend John at Waterham Studios where I had my website pictures shot wants me to send lots of fascinators to him for a retro/burlesque shoot he's doing on Friday which should be cool. I'll see if he'll let me have a pic or two to put on here. I'm very excited that they are going to be used for that. I'll keep you posted.

It's been book week at school this week and P and her friends had to dress up as their favourite book characters. Here she is as Ariel the Little Mermaid with some of her friends. There were lots of Disney Princesses and their teachers dressed up as Little Red Riding Hood, the wolf and the woodcutter and ran around the playground, which scared P half to death. She's not into wolves or anything scary. So cute!

The Ginger Ninja has been mousing again. I actually locked myself out of my house at half 11 the other night rescuing a tiny mouse and putting him outside. Luckily I had my phone on my so I rang dad and got him out of bed to bring the spare set of keys! Next day he'd got one and I found it in P's welly boot!, then one ended up running up my flared jeans yesterday whilst trying to rescue it! Honestly, he should be hired out as a mouse catcher. He never kills them, just carries them around and plays with them until I rescue them or they run outside. He's so cool.

Happy days!

Time Flies

I can't believe it's Tuesday already. The weekend has flown and I'm not quite sure what we've done!

P went to a party on Saturday which was a massive blow up bouncy shark affair which the kids absolutely loved. It's amazing what keeps them occupied for an hour. She had a great time.

I've been finishing off my batch of fascinators and sent them all off, just rushed out in the wind and rain to post the last one. Here they are:

April Fascinator, to North Carolina, USA:

Rachael Fascinator in cranberry and silver, to Berkshire, UK:

Claire Fascinator, to Times Square, New York:

**oh dear... looks like I forgot to take a photo of this one. It was Poppy red with black feathers. So cool. Drat...**

My cat Charlie has been mousing again. Last night he brought in a mouse and it ran behind the kitchen units. I shut the kitchen door when we went to bed so that it had a chance to escape, but the cat was having none of it. He was launching himself at the door trying to open it to get at the mouse (this is at 11pm when P and I are asleep). I had to go down and let him in and I left him sitting looking at the cupboard. Big mistake. P woke up at half past 2 am and came into bed with me. I went and turned off her night light and got her pillow and jumped back into bed trying to slide in so as not to disturb the cat who was asleep by the side of me and hadn't moved.

5 seconds later the cat jumps off the bed and runs down the stairs like he's been fired out of a gun. I mean FAST. Like 2 seconds from bed to hall. Tom and Jerry stylee.

I am assuming the mouse has had a little tour of the house and ended up following us all into my bedroom to see if it can cozy up with us...

I went downstairs to make sure the cat was ok and he wasn't having some sort of fit, and there, running about is Mousey. Luckily for him he got chased into the fireplace (we have open fires) and there he stayed. I went back to bed. Charlie probably spent 3 hours looking at the fireplace, but got bored and came back to bed because he was there in the morning.

I decided that I would have to investigate this morning... here's what I found when I moved all the logs...

It's a good job I used to have gerbils when I was smaller. This one got picked up by his tail and put outside. Feisty little thing!!

I might set up a sanctuary... Pink Tiger's Sanctuary for Rescued Mice...

Clippies & Mousies

I have been working on an Alchemy request that I put a bid in for on Etsy and won. Basically it's when an Etsy user requests something that they want and you put in your bid of how much it will cost them to buy the article off you. Nathalie asked for some sparkly Swarovski crystal clippies for her daughter and I won the bid. Here they are! They are whizzing over to Wisconsin tomorrow morning.

Etsy is lovely. It's got a great community spirit. You make friends with someone for a week or so, chat to them over mail, work with them on what they want you to make for them, then they are gone with their accessory and you don't speak to them again. Quite sad really, but lovely at the same time.

I was in another Treasury too. This one was by DaintyDeity and she chose my Joanna fascinator which has been popular this month and I'm in the top spot! Thanks for that DD. Again there are some great sellers in this compilation and it's so lovely to be included with them.

I've been working on another Jessica fascinator to post to Northern Ireland tomorrow. I have to run to the Post Office first thing to collect the feathers that I missed on saturday morning so that I can send it special delivery for the client to get it by wednesday this week. I'll post a picture tomorrow to show you when it's completed.

I've also had an order for a Tamara fascinator from Canada which will be started tomorrow to post out on wednesday hopefully!

We rescued a baby mouse this morning from inside P's welly boot! I think Charlie (the cat) brought it in and dropped it in there, and I found him hovering over it this morning licking his lips! P was thrilled and we released it in the front garden at half 7am! Lucky mouse!

Early nights for us tonight. P's had two late ones this weekend and she gets SO grumpy when she's tired. Mommy needs one too!
